Drag Me To Hel…aaaaahhhhhhh!

Drag Me to Hell might just be the scariest thing I’ve seen in a loonnnggg while…

Granted, I don’t actively see a lot of horror movies, but this one really got to me somehow. Do realize, though, that I enjoy thrillers from time to time and have no problem tolerating gory scenes. Perhaps it was the fact that I saw it in the theaters, and the loudness of the speakers helped and enhanced the effect. (which is why I wouldn’t recommend watching it on the DVD if you’re looking for a good scare… unless you have a really good sound system, or watching it with headphones!) It was so scary that I almost got to the point where I was covering part of my vision with my palm like a little girl, lol. The movie was also the source of a series of aftershock that had me afraid of the dark like a kid for a good week.

The type of horror is similar to what The Exorcist brings to the table: In a nutshell, without any spoilers, it’s about a gypsy curse that torments someone for three days before the person will be dragged down to hell. The movie is directed by the Sam Raimi who previously worked on Spider Man 3… quite a huge jump from a blockbuster action movie to a small-budget horror film eh? Cast-wise, Alison Lohman who did a remarkable job in Matchstick Men stars as the protagonist of the film along with Justin Long, a.k.a. the Mac Guy.

Whether you’re an avid fan of scary movies, a guy who wants to take a girl to the theaters and hope there is a movie that would make her hold onto you in fear, or even just someone who wants to prank Devon and scare the crap out of him, this is the movie to see. But stay away if you can’t handle any scary element in movies!

Really? The movie released in the beginning of July and I’ve seen its trailer ran on tv for about 2 weeks… the trailer is every bit as creepy as the movie! Brings back horrible memories!

I have been a huge fan of Justin Long’s ever since I saw Waiting. His quick wit and comedy is great. However I recently saw Drag me to Hell. This is the worst movie ever, and it was not Justin’s acting that was Dragging me through hell as I was watching it. It was just the bad writing of the complete movie…
